Job Description

STAFF VACANCY

Brescia University College (www.brescia.uwo.ca), a Catholic college affiliated with Western University, is Canada’s only women’s university providing instruction to over 1600 students. Brescia is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill a position as:

FRONT DESK LEAD – Student and Guest Services
(Temporary Full-time, Maternity Leave)
(Salary Grade 6 - position rate, $28.89 per hour)

Front Desk Staff are often the first point of contact for students or visitors with either Residence Life or Conference Services at Brescia University College.  This team provides customer service to over 300 student residents, external visitors, faculty, staff and Conference Services guests. Front Desk Staff contribute to the creation of a safe, supportive and engaging student experience in residence.  During the summer months, Front Desk Staff continue in a welcoming guest service role for Conference Services. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer service principles, emergency response and building support protocols are followed in every instance by providing training, oversight and support/motivation for the Clare Hall Front Desk team.

Reporting to the Residence Manager, a key responsibility of the Team Lead position is the smooth operation of the Front Desk.  This is achieved by ensuring continuity of information between all three shifts (Day, Afternoon and Night), comprising full-time, part-time and casual staff. More broadly, the Front Desk Team Lead is responsible for: monitoring building access; enforcing residence policies; responding to student or guest concerns/emergency situations; maintaining log book; and providing general information to students, families, guests and visitors.
This position will also provide support for all internal events in the form of overseeing all room bookings, development of an event checklist, and creating a system that compiles, tracks and shares the full collection and distribution of information related to all internal on-campus events.
