Note: This is a full-time temporary Administrative position (37.5 hours per week) starting January 23, 2023 and ending January 31, 2025.

Duties:  The ERP Testing Lead contributes to a large scale, multi-year Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project for Fanshawe College. This ERP project will focus on digital solutions for Human Resources, Finance and Student systems to enable the College’s future directions. The project contributes to the College’s digital and data strategies.


The project vision is to deliver a flexible solution that enables an integrated, and user-friendly experience while enhancing processes delivery through innovation, self-service and reliable data.

The Testing Lead is part of the ERP Implementation Team consisting of people from the College and the technology vendor including Functional Analysts and Functional Leads, IT Leads and Analysts, ERP Project Managers (HR/SS) and the Vendor System Implementer within the Governance structure of the ERP.

Reporting to the CIO with accountability to the ERP Project Manager, the ERP Testing Lead is a member of the ERP Project Team, which contains members from the College as well as the ERP Implementation Partner. The Testing Lead will lead, plan, coordinate and orchestrate all testing activities within the multi-phase, and multi-year ERP project. Types of testing will include unit, system, integration, end-to-end, data conversion and migration, regression and new releases. Testers will include the project team and operational participants as required.

The ERP Testing Lead has extensive and proven test/QA management experience and expertise. They have experience leading testing in an ERP implementation (ideally Workday) and have strong leadership and communication skills needed to drive testing across the project.

 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary 4-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming and Analysis, Quality Assurance or related field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience leading and managing testing/QA in a multi-phase, multi-year ERP project; Workday preferred
  • CSTE or ISTQB certification is an asset
  • Experiencing transitioning to an ERP across an enterprise
  • Proven experience and expertise in designing and implementing formal testing/QA processes, procedures and best practices to ensure efficient, effective testing for all types of testing required in the project (unit, system, integration, E2E, data conversion and migration, regression, new releases, etc.)
  • Proven experience and expertise in developing test strategies and test plans, working with the project team to develop test scenarios/cases/expected results
  • Proven experience and expertise in recommending, developing/acquiring and setting up/using tools to support testing
  • Experience working in a project environment with multiple priorities and strict time constraints
  • Strong team work, consultation, analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision skills
  • Prior knowledge of, and experience with, testing/QA methodologies, tools and best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum
  • Prior experience implementing cloud-based ERP technology is preferred
  • Familiarity with Workday and its implementation methodology is preferred
