In partnership with Prime Management Group Inc., Libro is actively recruiting for an experienced, results oriented, Data Scientist. As the Data Scientist, you will harness vast amounts of data to optimize business results. The Data Scientist advances the state- of- the- art methodology in how data is applied to bring solutions to problems within Libro. As the subject matter expert, you will provide expertise on mathematical and statistical concepts for the broader applied analytics teams. This includes Business Intelligence, Insights and Research, as well as other stakeholders. You and your colleague(s) will provide inspiration for the adoption of advanced analytics and Data Science across the organization.

You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying business problems that offer the greatest opportunities to the organization
  • Determining the correct data sets and variables
  • Collecting large sets of structured and unstructured data from disparate sources
  • Cleaning and validating the data to ensure accuracy, completement and uniformity
  • Devising applying models and algorithms to mine the stores of the data
  • Developing/implementing Machine Learning model validation methodologies and standards.
  • Ensuring that the validation methodologies and standards are in line with industry best practice or address regulatory and audit requirements and/or findings in a timely manner
  • Developing and evolve appropriate standards for Libro
  • Testing hypothesis and model outputs, ensuring Bias are removed
  • Analyzing vendor and Libro source system data to identify patterns and trends
  • Interpreting data to discover solutions and opportunities
  • Updating models to eliminate degradation.

You will be expected to go onsite up to 3 times per month.

To qualify, you will ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Social Sciences with a focus in Social Statistics, Quantitative/Qualitative social research. In addition, you will have the following experience:

5+ years of experience Python Coding
3+ years of T-SQL/PLSQL
3+ years of experience working and collaboratively creating Azure cloud platform pipelines
3+ years of implementing Machine Learning/AI models
3+ years of Data Visualization experience in a PowerBi on prem/cloud environment
3+ years of experience in identifying and creating models providing outputs of meaningful value to organizations
Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative and qualitative approaches
Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
Familiarity with relational, SQL and NoSQL databases
Expert knowledge of statistical analysis tools such as R, Matlab
Project management experience an asset
Knowledge of applicable data privacy, ethics practices and laws
