Computer Lab Technologist (ITY 40200)
School of Information Technology
Faculty of Business, Information Technology and Part-time Studies
Location: London
Employment Group: Support
Hours: 35 hours per week. Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
On occasion, this position may require work outside of regular working hours.
Pay Details: $35.39 per hour
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Note: This is a full-time position (35 hours per week).
Duties: Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean, School of Information Technology, the incumbent supports professors and students in the ongoing activities of the School of Information Technology student lab environments.
The incumbent is responsible for: installing, customizing, maintaining and debugging hardware and software; completing or initiating corrective action for hardware and software issues, and providing guidance, advice and assistance to faculty and students in support of teaching/learning activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
While transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory prior to any offer of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary 3-year diploma in a computer-related discipline with an emphasis on the support of personal computers, software and local networks
- Minimum 3 years’ experience gained in a computer technical support environment performing network administration, hardware/software setup, configuration and support
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
- Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of computer lab systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor a variety of activities
