POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for fabricating new and replacement parts for Timberland’s manufactured equipment. The position summary is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.
- Operation of manual machine shop equipment including lathes, drill presses and milling machines
- Operation of CNC including lathe and vertical machine center horizontal boring mill
- Use precision inspection and measuring tools
- Perform minor machine maintenance
- Gain experience in a medium sized company that designs and builds custom capital equipment; we successfully compete with the large, multi-national corporations
- Get valuable work experience and exposure to the various stages of manufacturing
- Witness the design, building and testing of our equipment and provide fabrication support on some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the world
- Receive an annual clothing and safety shoe allowance
- In addition to statutory holidays and vacation, receive 5 paid holidays throughout the calendar year
- Receive a shift premium for the afternoon shift
- Participate in the benefits program and company pension plan
- General understanding of CNC and conventional machining equipment, willingness to be placed in different aspects of machining environment
- Operate manual lathes, boring mill, drill presses and CNC vertical machining center, Mazak turning center and Olympia boring mill
- Work in a co-operative group atmosphere
- Have own basic machinist tools
- Willing and able to work rotating shifts and overtime
