Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Manager of Corporate Services is responsible for the day to day operation and coordination of services of the Corporate Services Department including Accounting, Financial Reporting, Budgets, Internal Financial Controls, Government Reporting, Human Resources, IT Services and General Office Administration. Position Summary:
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Manager of Corporate Services utilizes strong management and leadership skills to ensure quality support services through the planning and coordination of human and physical resources. An established professional, you will act as a coach and facilitator, and provide leadership to support the continuous development of the team. You possess highly developed leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in a Business related program.
- A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- CHRP/CHRL designation (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-years experience in a related managerial position
- Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under the OHSA – Solid knowledge and understanding of legislation related to Employment, People and Financial Management.
- Experience in budget development and the management of fiscal resources.
- Experience in performance management, conflict resolution and attendance management.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience using computerized financial systems (preferably SAGE ACCPAC).
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to accounting and administrative staff; establishing objectives and evaluating the performance of staff.
- Mentor department staff providing an engaging work environment where staff are motivated to achieve established goals.
- Provide support and assistance to the General Manager/Secretary Treasurer.
- Policy development to ensure adequate internal controls are in place and ensure Corporate Policies are up to date with applicable legislation.
- Lead the annual budget and five-year capital forecast in conjunction with the Organizations Senior Management Team.
- Lead the annual audit and be responsible for the preparation and fair presentation of the financial statements in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards.
- Collaborate with all staff in maximizing grants and subsidies, including preparing and monitoring required submissions and reporting.
- Responsible for investments and compliance to the investment policy.
- Manage operational cost savings and revenue production and ensuring departments achieve business plan objectives and targets.
- Maintain effective control of all human resource administration functions, including policies and procedures, job descriptions and evaluations, employee benefits, employment legislation & regulations, remittances and compensation research.
- Support the Senior Management Team with Human Resource Management including recruitment and organizational development.
- Coordinate the communication systems, office space management, records maintenance, security and IT support.
- Attend all Board and committee meetings and prepare and present reports/presentations as required.
- Ability to make public presentations to municipalities, funding partners and the public.
- Provide oversight regarding the appropriate insurance coverage and renewals.
- Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager/Secretary Treasurer.
Location/Working Conditions:
- Tillsonburg with travel within the watershed.
- 35-hour work week with additional seasonal work required.
- Extra hours may be required to meet deadlines or attend meetings and/or special events.
