Our engineering scope of work typically includes sewer and water design, stormwater management and grading, site planning, traffic management, erosion and sediment control, and noise studies. Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, the role of Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and documenting the Contractor’s performance on a variety of construction projects to ensure conformance to contract specifications and proper construction methods.

Job Requirements
  • Completed a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program from an accredited academic institution recognized by PEO or OACETT;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ related field experience in Municipal Reconstruction and/or Land Development construction;
  • Understanding of civil and municipal construction specifications and contract documents;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license (class G);
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software, including use of portable electronic devices for field documentation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills are mandatory;
  • Problem solving skills are mandatory for timely decisions and issue resolution;
  • Working knowledge of survey equipment is an asset.

Job Duties
  • Working both independently and within a team environment to complete project work including but not limited to the inspection of construction sites, documenting the Contractor’s performance, and completing reports, monitoring conformance to specifications by addressing any concerns and assisting other members of the project team;
  • Interpret drawings and contract documents to ensure the construction meets the intent of the design and address any discrepancies and unforeseen conditions with the Project Manager;
  • Apply standards (Municipal, OPSS, OBC) correctly for the appropriate situations;
  • Monitor and report on progress and environmental issues;
  • Coordinate with external parties (Municipal/Client/other consultants);
  • Evaluate completed work and provide summaries of work completed and preparation of draft Payment Certificates;
  • Inspect work for deficiencies and communicate remedial efforts to the Contractor;
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot in the field and identify potential issues during construction;
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development;
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload;
  • Other duties as assigned.
