Job Description
Complete duties related to construction of residential building units while coordinating trades and suppliers under the direction of the Superintendent.

• Complete carpentry and labour tasks related to the construction of residential building units as directed by the Superintendent.
• Maintain cleanliness of site and all houses under construction. Direct and educate trades and suppliers on the applicable standards of clean-up and ensure that all houses are broom swept at the end of each work day. Advise Superintendent of non-compliance.
• Coordinate activities of trades and suppliers on site as required under the direction of the Superintendent. Ensure that the finished product meets the regulations of all governing bodies and that workmanship meets the high level of company standards.
• Review plans, specifications, change orders, site instructions and purchase orders and advise Superintendent immediately of any possible changes, errors or discrepancies.
• Ensure proper use, care and maintenance of all company-owned and rented equipment used on projects.
• Adhere to all safety rules. Instruct and ensure that all personnel including trades, suppliers and customers are adhering to safety rules and regulations at all times. Immediately report infractions to the Superintendent and follow-up as required.
• Advise Superintendent on the performance of all sub-trades and suppliers.
• Bring any concerns about the project to the attention of the Superintendent.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• 3 - 4 years’ experience in general construction with some supervisory and scheduling experience.
• Carpentry experience and experience with the safe handling and operation of power tools.
• Working knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.
• Relevant post-secondary school education (Construction Engineering Technology Management) is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, or other industry computer database is an asset.
