Salary: $24.15 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week
Closing Date: July 27, 2017
Note: This is a full-time position (35 hours per week).
Duties: Under the supervision of the Dean, the incumbent is responsible and accountable for the administration of all daily activities of the Dean's office, providing administrative support to the Dean and the Faculty of Regional and Continuing Education.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary 2 year diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, Administrative or Executive Secretary
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an office environment showing progressive responsibilities, preferably in an academic setting
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Experience in event management, with demonstrated planning, coordination and facilitation skills
- Work independently with minimal supervision and as an effective team member; conflict resolution and problem solving skills; the ability to make day-to-day decisions as required, and excellent customer service skills
- Experience with business operations and processes with well-developed skills in internal and external communication
- Technical and organizational skills and problem solving in a busy environment with competing demands
- Balancing of multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent
- interruptions
- Experience using software applications (word processing and spreadsheets) preferably in an educational setting
