Job Description

The YMCA of Western Ontario supports the development of healthy communities by providing opportunities for personal growth in spirit mind and body. We have over 1300 employees and 450 active volunteers who help deliver on our mission.

The Payroll Administrator is part of a team of three who support payroll processes. Under the direction of the VP of Human Resources, this role is  primarily involved in processing payroll and benefits for a staff of over 1300. The ideal candidate will be extremely customer service oriented, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process new hire packages, staff changes, and terminations
  • Administer payroll deductions for donations, benefits, and pension contributions.
  • Submit remittances for CRA, EI, CPP,  EHT,
  • Process ROEs as necessary
  • Maintain employee files
  • Answer staff inquiries promptly and courteously
  • Communicate with all departments/ branches
  • Supply various reports assisting with month end, year end, T4s, and other projects as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary diploma in a related discipline CPA certified preferred
  • Minimum 3 yr  payroll experience,
  • Experience with Avanti software preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Highly service oriented
  • Analytical, excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, teamwork.
