Randstad Engineering is seeking a Project Coordinator on behalf of our Client, a provider of construction and project management services to the oil and gas/petroleum engineering sector.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with project requirements, cost estimates, project plan based on predefined customer strategy and budget
• Full estimating responsibilities
• Define activities, sequences of events, dependencies and duration of tasks required to complete the project
• Subcontractor Selection and scheduling
• Control the time, cost and quality of construction projects
• Determine the scheduling of different phases of a project based on established deadlines.
• Secure building permits and licenses and delivery of materials and equipment to project site
• Address project issues
• Assist with day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope including material committed to the project
• Confer with supervisors or other managers to monitor construction progress, including worker productivity and compliance with building and safety codes.
• Maintain good working relationships between contractors, sub-trades and project staff
• Communicate and enforce company safety standards and operating practices
• Represent the clients best interest with a value added approach
• Deliver projects on time and on budget, with focus on exceptional client satisfaction, quality, safety, and value added services
• Post-project reviews with the intention of identifying best practices and cost breakdown
• Travel to the project sites during the course of the project
• Establish excellent working relationships with all team members to ensure high performance team and project success

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Demonstrated effective project coordinator skills for small to medium size projects
• Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities
• High level of ability to use MS Project and other scheduling software
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects at different stages of renovation/construction
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent listening ability and exemplary written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills
• Ability to multitask, plan and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Supervisory skills & ability to resolve conflicts
• Technically competent with various software programs, i.e. Windows 7, MS Office and Internet Explorer
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Administration standards
• Understand basic accounting procedures and P & L’s
• Possess an exceptional level of professionalism, integrity, and customer focus
• High degree of energy and ability to prioritize and manage time to maximize productivity and effectiveness
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive, strategic working relationships
• A tenacious, collaborative team approach; and possess a positive, ‘get ‘er done’ attitude

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or College diploma in relevant field or combination of education and experience
• Minimum 2 years direct work experience in a project coordinator capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
• Fluent English language skills, Fluency in French an asset
