Serving the greater London region, Fanshawe College is one of Ontario’s largest colleges with an international focus consisting of campuses in London, Simcoe, St. Thomas, Woodstock and Toronto and sites in Huron/Bruce. The institution offers over 200 diploma, degree, certificate, graduate certificate and apprenticeship programs to 43,000 students each year, from the southwestern Ontario region and from over 100 countries worldwide, helping them unlock their potential and succeed in various disciplines, including applied arts, business, health care, human services, hospitality, and technology. Fanshawe also plays an essential role in providing re-skilling and skills upgrading opportunities for mature learners through the design and delivery of custom training for federally and provincially sponsored trainees, community organizations, sectoral training councils, and private sector employers in the business, health, industrial and service sectors.
 
Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to be partnering with Fanshawe College in search of a forward-thinking, innovative Vice-President, People and Culture to join their executive leadership team in London, Ontario. This compelling leader will work in an in-person and hybrid capacity, and collaboratively drive the development of a strategic human resources framework and people plan to support the College’s strategic objectives, while providing transformational and innovative leadership, management, and delivery of the College-wide human resource (HR) function, including implementation and oversight of the College’s new HRMS system. This forward-thinking and integrity-based senior HR professional will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner while taking a holistic and service-minded approach to promote and foster a cohesive, equitable and diverse environment that promote all staff and students’ well-being, sense of belonging, and engagement. As the leader of Fanshawe College’s People Strategy, the Vice-President, People and Culture will unwaveringly demonstrate the College’s values which include, “focusing on students, involving our communities, utilize resources wisely, embracing change, and engaging each other.”
 
Reporting to the President, the Vice-President, People and Culture will be a champion of Fanshawe’s progressive student and employee-focused culture while leading, developing, and executing innovative HR solutions, and strategies.  Working collaboratively with senior leadership across the College, this results-oriented leader will support corporate initiatives which align with the College’s vision to provide the foundation and capacity to achieve significant advances in corporate effectiveness which exceed stakeholder expectations. As a trusted, humble, and goal-oriented leader, the Vice-President, People and Culture will take a hands-on and innovative approach to develop holistic, scalable, and transformational HR plans to position the College for current and future success while remaining compliant with all relevant legislation.
 
As a proven and experienced labour relations leader, the Vice-President, People and Culture will strategically steward complex multi-layered union relationships while delivering high-quality human resources services to meet and exceed the needs of students, employees and stakeholders. The individual will provide strategic oversight to the benefits, compensation, and organizational development units of the College. The Vice-President, People and Culture will provide visionary leadership, guidance and motivation to a committed Human Resources team and drive innovative best in class people and culture practices to ensure exceptional results are delivered College wide.   This accomplished leader will be responsible for developing an effective strategic and comprehensive People Plan, including transformative and innovative talent management, recruitment, performance management, and succession plans that position the College as an employer of choice.
 
The Vice-President, People and Culture for Fanshawe College will hold a Master’s degree or equivalent, CHRL/CHRE designation, with 15+ years of progressive executive level Human Resources experience.  The successful candidate will possess exceptional achievements in HR strategic planning and execution, change management, talent management/recruitment, succession planning, and HRMS system implementation proficiency, coupled with a proven and notable track record in labour relations.
 
As a bold, resilient, highly collaborative, and empowering leader, the Vice-President, People and Culture will support the President and senior leadership team to anticipate and take the initiative to build proactive, effective, and sustainable HR plans. This leader will employ high levels of communication, problem-solving, organization, and decision-making to mobilize new concepts to achieve the College’s strategic goals. With a capacity to think creatively, innovatively, and critically, this motivational leader will work across a large organization to coordinate efforts through the department and align with multiple stakeholders to drive change.
