A Canadian leader in the steel fabrication and material handling industry has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Production Supervisor. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position supervises and coordinates the activities of welders, machine operators, assemblers and painters throughout the manufacturing process. Primary Duties

• Assign work and oversee all manufacturing activities
• Analyze and resolve production and employee related problems
• Motivate employees to achieve production goals while meeting established quality (ISO) and safety standards
• Take corrective action as required
• Complete performance appraisals
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Ensure that work is conducted in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures to help reduce or eliminate the risk of workplace injuries
• Effectively communicate with team members, peers and elevate issues to management
• Prepare daily and periodic reports as required

Education, Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum five years experience in a leadership role or supervisory position
• Relevant post-secondary diploma or certificates
• Results orientated with proven ability to lead and motivate shop floor personnel
• Experience in a steel fabrication/weld environment preferred
• Strong organizational, computer, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated ability to interact with subordinates and colleagues in a positive manner
