Montessori Academy of London (MA) is a leader in independent education in London. We’re seeking a part-time, experienced cleaner/janitor to assist in cleaning duties within our organization. This is a part-time position (4 hrs daily) Monday to Friday 4:30pm to 8:30pm with some flexibility. MA supports more than 330 students ranging from 18 months through 14 years of age.
Responsibilities/ duties include but may not be limited to:
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Dusting furniture, vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets and area rugs
- Washing walls, doors, counters, shelves and windows
- Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
- Clean and disinfect public areas such as offices, changing rooms, and elevators
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers
Qualifications
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be reliable and willing to work flexible hours when needed
- Able to effectively communicate with staff and supervisors orally and through written text
- Attention to detail
- Ability to push/pull/move/lift 25lbs
- Ability to stay motivated when completing daily tasks
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, with minimal supervision
- Must provide a valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check – PVSC
- Experience with general household cleaning
- Understand WHMIS and how this applies to workplace safety
