Brief Description / Summary:

The Software Engineer/Product Development will join the Products Team with the EK3 Technology group and will be responsible for a leading role in the technical development and support of EK3 product lines that align with the business strategy.

The Software Engineer/Product Development is expected to demonstrate significant initiative and have the ability to work in a strong team environment.  As well, the successful candidate will  have excellent expertise and experience in technologies and developing large scale technical solutions for product lines that also include embedded and near real-time software components .

The Software Engineer/Product Development will work with different groups and business units in developing and managing EK3 offerings, in particular with teams from Products, Marketing, Business Services, Quality Management, Sales, Creative and Account Services

Typical Responsibilities / Duties:

• Active participation in developing the Product lines, their features, roadmaps, architectures and technical solutions.
• Active participation in modeling and analyzing customers' use scenarios for the products.
• Active participation in configuration management of product variants, test development, test automation, revision control system management, multi-version multi-variant product building, database schema design and programming.
• Adherence to the EK3 Quality standards and policies for Technology, Product, and Services development.
• Participate in supporting product marketing to ensure the successful launch of new products. 
• Participate in developing technology and product roadmaps that align with business strategy. 
• Participate in market research related to inPulse products family across multiple verticals.
• Maintain consistent contact with lead users and strategic customers and partners to understand market trends, customer requirements, and to exercise empathic design principles
• Develop thorough understanding of competitive applications and solutions in the market to define the quantifiable differentiated technical and functional requirements for new product development, line extensions, and product life cycle management for the inPulse product line.
• Participate in new product needs analysis in conjunction with Product and Marketing teams to ensure alignment with product technical trends and solutions marketing-strategy. 

Necessary Education / Experience:

• Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering options or equivalent training and experience.
• 3+ years experience in a mature engineering organization building packaged software products for digital media market in a quarterly paced environment with short and quick product lifecycles.

·         3+ years experience in product development (or system analyst capacity), product support and maintenance.

• 2+ years experience in defining new product features and services, developing product roadmaps, architectures and product fact sheets conducting market and user research and analyzing emergent market opportunities.

·         3+ years experience architecting, designing and implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high performance, high availability systems, and hosted applications.

• 2+ year experience of architecture design of Web-services SOA and SaaS based solutions
• 3+ years experience in OO approaches based on Java, EJB, Servlets, with HTML and Javascript based UI, C++ will be an asset.

• 3+ years experience with scripting languages such as Perl, PHP, Python, etc.

• 3+ years experience in Web technologies including: HTTP, XHTML, XML, SOAP, web server, server-side Java.

• 2+ years experience with relational databases and SQL with products of at least two different vendors and mySQL

• 2+ years experience with UX and UI design.
• 2+ years experience in projects developing, maintaining or integrating with embedded/near real-time data-drive applications with low level device interfacing (e.g. video and serial device drivers) would be very preferable.
• 3+ years experience in the digital signage, promotion, and advertisement or related industries would be very preferable.
