We are currently seeking a mature, reliable and personable Maintenance Caretaker to join a vibrant retirement community in a full time maintenance capacity.  This is an ideal position for a semi retired person looking to play an important role in the continued and growing success of this retirement community.   As the successful candidate you will also receive a competitive hourly wage and the potential for live in accommodations. 

In your role as Maintenance Caretaker, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the complex.  You will be relied upon by the staff and residents to ensure that all building maintenance issues involving heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical systems are dealt with promptly and efficiently. You will also handle property security and safety, and respond to on-call emergencies. 

Qualifications:

·         5-10 years experience troubleshooting and performing repairs on any of the following:  heating, cooling and ventilation systems; plumbing, electrical and/or mechanical systems

·         5-10 years experience with general maintenance, cleaning and snow removal duties

·         Motivated, reliable self starter who takes initiative

·         Excellent interpersonal skills; cooperative, respectful and professional

·         Good problem solving ability

·         Must possess valid driver’s license and vehicle

·         Ability to work alternating weekends and on-call

·         Must be physically able to put recycling and garbage out for pick up

·         Secondary School diploma a must

·         Some Post Secondary education preferred   eg. HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing

·         A clear Police background check
