Manager of Consulting Services - Job description
Summary:
The
Manager of Consulting Services will implement, lead and coordinate the start-up
of Pillar Nonprofit Network’s social enterprise. We are looking for a
candidate with outstanding managerial and marketing skills and an
entrepreneurial bent; someone with a passion for the nonprofit sector who
understands the concept of social enterprise.
In addition, we are looking for someone who can deliver a portion of the
hands-on consulting and training services.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and
implement Pillar's Consulting Services Program
Administration
§
Maintain the business plan for the Consulting
Services Program
§
Responsible for overall promotion, sales,
community engagement and advocacy related to training and consulting services
§
Create, implement and maintain policies and
procedures related to the training and consultation services
§
Monitor the Consulting Services Program budget
and expenses and participate in financial planning
§
Achieve mutually agreed upon annual financial
targets based on business plan
§
Participate in the development of grants and
report writing, as it relates to program area
§
Maintain adequate records and produce monthly
reports for the board of directors pertaining to program activities
§
Participate in local, regional and provincial
initiatives that support the goals of the training and consulting services
program and Pillar, as approved
Consulting
§
Create, facilitate and maintain network of
consultants and volunteers, in the fields of board governance, strategic
planning, fund development and organizational development, who are willing to
work with Pillar to deliver the consulting services
§
Deliver consulting services in areas that fit
with personal expertise
§
Coordinate delivery of services
§
Monitor requests for proposals, determine fit
and write proposals when appropriate
§
Interpret requests for training and
consultation
§
Develop training materials as required
§
Keep abreast of trends, issues and topics
2. Other
Responsibilities
§
Participate in office coverage duties, as
needed
§
Participate as required, in any event, program
or project sponsored by Pillar Nonprofit Network
§
Promote Pillar membership services to eligible
organizations
§
Contribute to the Pillar team, including
collaborative initiatives
§
Attend professional development opportunities
as appropriate
§
All other duties as assigned
Desired
Qualifications:
§
Post-secondary education
§
Theoretical and practical knowledge in the
field of nonprofit management
§
Experience with sales and marketing
§
Experience consulting in areas of board
development, strategic planning, fund development and/or organizational
development is considered an asset
§
Experience as a trainer and/or expertise in
the field of adult education or community development
§
Experience working with a variety of nonprofit
or charitable organizations
§
Experience and/or knowledge related to social
enterprise
§
Effective interpersonal and communication
skills (including writing and public speaking)
§
Excellent organizational abilities
§
Knowledge and experience with computer
programs (Microsoft Office Suite, database management)
§
Must be a team player and have a strong
personal commitment to the nonprofit sector

Reports To: Pillar
Nonprofit Network's Executive Director
Hours: 37.5 hours
per week (flexible; evening/weekend hours required)
Salary:
Competitive salary with bonuses based on performance.
