Recreation Manager
(Temporary Contract to December 2011)
In conjunction with the General Manager, the Recreation Manager is responsible for planning and implementing a portfolio of state-of-the-art events, continuing education, and entertainment programs to meet the specific interests, cultural background and history of our residents. You will also assist as van driver as required to outings, using the vehicle provided; facilitate community integration and involvement; supervise volunteers and student placements; and publish the monthly facility newsletter.
Energetic and innovative, your formal Recreation or related certification is teamed with previous experience developing and implementing innovative recreational activities, preferably in a seniors’ environment. With proven success in recruiting and working with volunteers, you have demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to speak formally in individual or group settings for presentations, teaching or promotion. A Class ‘F’ Drivers license is preferred.
