Title: CNC Machinist

Reports To: Plant Manager

Key Accountabilities/Activities:

• Operate CNC Mills, Lathes, and Machine Turn Centers with proficiency
• Modify programs to make offsets and minor adjustments to produce finished parts according to specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
• Set-up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non repetitive machining operation i.e. drilling, boring, milling, etc.
• Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments (should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales)
•  Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines
• Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead crane for movement of parts
• Conduct self in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 certifications that are in place for the company, along with follow all company quality and health and safety regulations
• May be asked to work at either AMTI buildings
• Required to work shift-work and overtime as needed
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

• A college diploma in manufacturing technology and/or trade certification
• Experience in machining and tooling large components
