We are currently seeking a Technical Support Representative to join our the Customer Service/Technical Support team. 

 

As a Technical Support Representative you will efficiently provide product solutions, assist with technical product difficulties and issue resolution to both internal and external customers. 

 

The successful candidate will do the above by:

 

  • Having working knowledge of our website and be able to provide accurate information to customers by telephone, email, chat and fax
  • Being knowledgeable about StarTech.com products, warranties and technologies to influence customer retention
  • Resolving product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determining the causes of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution; expediting correction; scheduling follow up to ensure resolution
  • Recommending potential products or services by collecting customer information and analyzing
  • Communicating & escalating technical product issues and technology gaps in the marketplace
  • Acquiring and maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions provided by StarTech.com and working with peers. Also by proactively reviewing professional publications and other technology focused knowledge bases

 The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in Computer Systems Technology or related program.  

 

Other requirements include:

 

-     Strong Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

-     Experience using Call Center software, preferably NEC Unified Communications Software

-     Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-    Excellent project management skills and detail orientation with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

-     Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

-     Knowledge of the IT industry and IT products
