Assistant Director of Care
In this leadership role, you will share your passion for enhancing excellence in resident-centered care. Working in conjunction with the current ADOC, you will support the administration of the nursing department, as delegated by the Director of Care. You will implement best practice standards and quality improvement, and actively collaborate with colleagues to ensure appropriate staff development. Particular focus will be placed on coordinating cross-disciplinary quality activities.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
· Support and enhance excellence in resident-centered services.
· Implement and maintain compliance with best practice and Ministry of Health Long Term Care Homes Act and Reg. 79/10.
· Provide leadership for indentified priorities in quality improvement.
· Assess, implement, and evaluate quality and risk management indicators in the home following results of RAI MDS 2.0, CIHI and the V.I.P program.
· Work as Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse as required.
· Participate in management on-call rotation.
· Act as RAI MDS back up.
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
· Registered Nurse (BScN preferred) with current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
· Three years related clinical and documentation experience in long-term care
· Leadership experience in managing teams in health care essential, preferably in a unionized environment
· Experience in adult education, wound and pain management
· Experience in Infection Control and PIECES
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and commitment to improving the quality of life of our residents
· Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; RAI-MDS 2.0 proficiency preferred.
· Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
