Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Engagement is a key member of the TechAlliance executive leadership team. This position is responsible for engaging, building and fostering strong member relationships, strategic and community partnerships, and establishing service networks to the benefit of the knowledge-based entrepreneurs and SMEs in London and the region. A visible and vocal champion for TechAlliance in the business community, this position actively seeks out opportunities to raise the awareness and profile of the organization and member community.
Responsibilities:
- Attract and retain TechAlliance's membership base and assess member relationships and service levels.
- Develop new, and enhance existing, partnerships and alliances within the private and public sector to better serve and resource the TechAlliance member community.
- Drive revenue including achieving membership targets, managing sponsorship programs and promotional campaigns.
- Consult with member companies regarding business issues and opportunities and co-develop, with the Director, Programming & Educational Outreach, strategic programming to address these needs.
- Develop and execute tactical plans to best leverage programs, services and resources.
- Actively promote all business educational programs and offerings to the business community.
- Seek partners, volunteers, champions and participants to support new initiatives including: CEO P2P program, CEO Mentorship Network, Expertise Mentorship Network, and Professional Services Network.
- Execute membership strategy and establish targets.
- Actively seek out opportunities to communicate/present TechAlliance member offerings.
- Consult with prospective members and conduct informal needs assessments and custom plans.
- Provide guidance and oversight to consultants regarding new programs including: the Collaborative Enterprise Pilot Project and the CEO P2P and Mentorship Network.
- Participate and drive new grant funding initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Business development experience considered a must.
- Exemplary relationship management skills.
- Experience working within the technology community.
- Entrepreneurial exposure.
- Possess a strong business and general-business community network.
- Working understanding of marketing & public relations.
- Program development experience considered a definite asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years business experience.
- A professional and mature disposition.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Superior communication skills (written and oral).
