The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Quality Manager in all areas of quality assurance APQP activities as well as be responsible to manage, co-ordinate and assist in the activities of the Quality Department.
Must have a minimum of three years experience within an automotive manufacturing facility dealing with GM, Ford, Chrysler or Honda. Experience with Assembly, Plastics and/or Paint is required.
1. Maintain the Quality System ensuring that all production requirements meet or exceed customer expectations
2. Leading the plant in methods needed to implement continuous improvements
3. Conducting root cause analysis and corrective action as required
4. Provide support and assistance to the Quality Supervisor in the preparation of PPAP documents, APQP books, also customer and supplier correspondence
5. Acting as customer liaison for quality issues and ensuring corrective action instructions are followed through
6. Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 (includes ISO 9001) Standards, and company policies and procedures
7. During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures, and participate in corrective action activities as necessary.
