Technical Illustrators

Our client, a global leader in the provision of light armoured military vehicles with an innovative approach to design and assembly, is looking for Technical Illustrators

Responsibilities:

·         Create electronic illustrations to support a variety of technical publications (TP)i.e. operation, maintenance and parts catalogues.

·         Review and become familiar with the sections of the contract that specifically addresses TP illustration development including military standards, and departmental illustration styles guide specifications.

·         Liaise with writers and engineering groups to collect data required to complete the illustrations required by contract.

·         Electronically draw 2D isometric views from blueprints using Adobe products.

·         Develop illustrations from B&W line art, CAD data, blueprints and photos.

·         Maintain electronic files in accordance with departmental requirements using CMS (Content Management System).

Qualifications:

• University degree / College diploma (technical), technical accreditation in CAD modelling.
• Technical Illustration Background
• Knowledge of Specifications and MIL-STDs.
• Strong Organization and Communication skills
• Strong engineering drawing reading skills
• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
• Proficiency with Windows XP network environment

Preferred Experience:

• Working knowledge of CMS
• Working knowledge of Unigraphics NX and/or Pro’E’
• Working knowledge of Team center Engineering
• LAV experience
