RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping in keeping with OH&S Act.
  • Ensure regular Preventive Maintenance checks on all electrical equipment with special emphasis on safety.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment with minimum interruption to production.
  • Maintain appropriate performance and maintenance records of equipment in clear and sufficient detail.
  • Inspect, repair, assemble, install, adjust and do preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and installations, power transmission systems, chains, belts, drives, speed reducers and pulley ratios.
  • Follow acts, regulations and codes related to facilities, equipment, environment protection, and H&S at all times.
  • Undertake special projects/activities as required.
  • Must be available for shift work and willing to work overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Licensed Electrician and Millwright
  • Familiar with safety devices and legislated codes
  • Able to read/understand electrical schematics
  • 5 years in a Manufacturing environment
