Controls Engineer / Technician
On behalf of my client I am recruiting for experienced Controls Engineering candidates that possess 3 or more years in Automotive or Aerospace Manufacturing. The ideal candidate would be open to working in teams and confident working independently.Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 plus overtime eligible
Shifts: Straight Days – Mix of Desk & Floor Support

Controls Engineer Position Requirements:
- Technologist Classification, Bachelor of Engineering or a Technical Diploma
- 5+ or more Years Experience with Machine Controls Design, Robotic Controls and Programming
- Industrial Electrical Apprenticeship is an asset but not required
- Skilled Trades License Industrial Millwright is an asset but not required
As the Controls Engineer your primary role is to supervise, manage and maintain controls on existing and incoming machinery. The controls engineering will support personnel from maintenance / engineering and other teams to resolve equipment issues, facilitate production and support continuous improvement projects.
- Developing and implementing: control solutions to achieve greatest productivity in integrated cells, relating to the productions and quality assurance of parts, information systems and equipment documentation. Managing and developing electrical and control systems with circuits ranging from high voltage AC to low voltage DC.
- Continually improving machine up time and operability. Integrating Die Cast cell knowledge to obtain operational improvements. Upgrade and update equipment Electrical drawings and control program files.
- Control: Controlling solutions for new and existing equipment defined, developed, monitored and installed. Oversee programming changes, communication changes and coordinate for consistency. Panel documentation/labeling and tracking of changes up to date. Controls new technology training for maintenance. Cohesiveness in maintenance i.e. projects, going in same direction. PDR/Health & Safety sign offs done in conjunction with outside Engineers.
- Rewrite existing controls specification to useable format for vendor quotations and in-house use. Continuous maintenance of specification is a requirement.
- Stock Room: Work with purchasing to properly implement new stock and remove obsolete stock items. Amend PLEX to ensure all uses of components are accounted for, not just the original use.
