Job Description

At TagsforHope we are building one of the leading eCommerce brands in the pet industry. What makes our company unique is that we manufacture all of our products in-house at our own facility here in London, Ontario and we use the power of social media to reach millions of pet owners worldwide.

We are looking for a talented automation engineer to join our team and help us automate our manufacturing facility in order to allow us to build competitive products - faster, better, and more efficiently.

If you think you will enjoy working with a small, but extremely talented, creative, and crafty team, within a small business environment and help us bring our manufacturing to the next level, this position might be for you.

Unlike working at larger organizations where it might feel that your work makes little difference, and the sense of community becomes lost, at TagsforHope we strive to do the exact opposite - your work will have a massive impact on the company, you will truly be a part of a small but talented team and you will be able to flex your creative and innovative abilities to solve a wide variety of fascinating problems on a daily basis.

Our company started almost a decade ago and since then we have built one of the most recognizable pet brands on social media with over half a million happy customers worldwide. On top of this, our company is heavily mission-focused and one of our core values is to use our success to help feed, treat and rescue as many animals in need as possible.

This is a rare opportunity in London and if you feel excited by the prospect of joining us and your values align with ours, we would love to hear from you.

What skills you will need in order to join our team:

  • Program and build PLC robotics and automation machinery

  • Mold making, injection molding, and casting using resin

  • G-Code and CNC machine operation

  • Operate large CNC routers

  • 3D Print

  • Fusion 360/Solidworks

  • Experience finding and applying creative, low-cost solutions to solve problems

  • Experience in one of the following:  Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TOC, or Six Sigma principles

  • The drive to constantly improve, innovate and solve problems

  • Bonus skills: working with Arduinos, fabrics, and sewing machinery, as well as metal processing such as aluminum anodization

You will need to meet one of the following education/experience requirements

  • College or University Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or similar

  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment

If hired, you will be

  • Paid a competitive salary with a great benefits package

  • Given the opportunity to grow with a young company and many opportunities for career growth and salary raises.

  • Working in a unique office/factory environment where you can bring your pet to work with you

  • Get to be a part of a fun, creative, and unique team

  • Given lots of extra perks such as access to our full snacks room, free drinks, lots of premium coffee and tea, team outings, and much more
