You shall plan, organize, guide and monitor the distribution operations of the Woodstock plant: receiving, warehousing (internal and external), managing inventory, preparing and shipping orders (which will impact transportation), with a view toward delivering customer satisfaction across Canada as cost effectively as possible, without ever compromising employee safety. More specifically, the Distribution Manager:
 

• Oversees the distribution operations of the Woodstock plant with a view toward achieving the Division’s objectives:
  • Receiving and warehousing products and supplies;
  • Preparing orders and shipping them Canada-wide;
  • Transporting to external customers and within Agropur sites;
  • Managing inventory;
  • Implementing and tracking key performance indicators;
  • Developing and reviewing various reports and controls;
  • Fostering occupational health and safety, as well as building security, maintenance and quality;
• Takes part in drafting action plans and manages the budgets for his/her activity sector;
• Manages, supports and coaches his/her team through the process of attaining operating objectives (productivity, managing overtime, occupational health and safety, quality, reducing absenteeism, regulatory compliances, etc.);
• Maintains sound labour relations with employees through regular meetings and various committees;
• Manages and/or participates in various projects for the purpose optimizing operations and suggesting opportunities for continuous improvement;
• Monitors operating processes and ensures they are being rigorously applied;
• Sits on various committees.
   

Requirements

• Bachelor of Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or other relevant field
• 5 to 7 years relevant experience in distribution, including 3 to 5 years management experience
• CPIM certification an asset
• Good command of computer systems (Oracle an asset, Office)
• English (spoken and written), French is an asset
• Highly autonomous, communicates well, customer service frame of mind, good negotiation skills, very good interpersonal skills, encourages team work
• Dynamic and rigorous with a great working structure
