Position Summary
We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor based at our London location reporting into the Maintenance Manager. The primary purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to review the overall safe, secure, efficient and cost-effective management of all Maintenance functions. The Maintenance Supervisor must effectively lead a team of Millwrights and Electricians to deliver superior results across all areas of Maintenance. This position may work on various shifts as needed, as well as weekend work.
What will make you successful
- Degree in Engineering, Engineering technologist, or licensed millwright or electrician or relevant experience
- Minimum 3 years progressive experience as a supervisor, preferably within the food industry
- Previous positive working experience within a unionized environment
- Must be willing to work all three shifts, including weekend work
- Solid understanding of Maintenance principles, Quality Assurance, Safety regulations and Asset Management are required
- Demonstrated leadership skills, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a dynamic fast paced environment
- Ability to think broadly, take initiative, provide solutions and convert into action when faced with challenges
- Computer Skill – solid understanding of Microsoft Office Programs, High proficiency in Microsoft excel
- Previous computerized maintenance management systems experience and a solid knowledge of SAP a definite asset
- Planning background a definite asset
- TPM / Planned Maintenance Pillar / Six Sigma experience is an asset

- Measuring and managing maintenance and repair performances to ensure targets are met
- Ensuring that workforce is trained and available to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Ensuring labour utilization is optimal
- Ensuring technical documentation is updated in a relevant manner
- Enforcing stockroom procedures
- Promoting and enhancing a positive working environment through teamwork and high level of employee involvement
- Ensuring ongoing feedback and coaching of the team to optimize performance levels
- Ensuring adherence to the site and corporate Safety, Quality and maintenance SOPs and policies
- Communicating to other Shift Supervisors, Team Members and Site Management on key performance issues
- Ensuring supervisory teams foster a safe working environment throughout all aspects of the maintenance function
- Effectively managing all relevant administrative processes in a timely and accurate manner
- Supporting execution of capital projects and the launch of new products
- Pursuing improvement opportunities
- Performing and coaching problem-solving methodology
- Planning work for skilled trades
