Job Description

Spectrum Communications is currently seeking a RF Technician to become the newest member of our team of talented individuals. With eight locations throughout southwestern Ontario, we are proud to be a member of our business communities, serving customers from Tobermory to the Lake Erie shore, from Lake Huron to Collingwood, and worldwide. We offer our customers the latest in communication solutions to not only fulfill their needs today – but technologies that will lead them into the future. To be considered for this position, you must have at least 3 years of electronics maintenance and repair experience. Experience can be from the commercial and/or military sectors.
 
Education:
Electronics Technologist (Preferred) or Electronics Technician Diploma (Minimum)

Job Description:
  • Testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of radio system infrastructure and subscriber equipment
  • Troubleshooting and problem diagnosis of conventional and trunking systems (analog and digital)
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports, work orders, rental agreements
  • Provide pre and post-sale technical support to Spectrum’s sales and rental staff
  • Install radios and accessories in vehicles, on and off site.
     
Essential Skills:
  • Capable of continuous learning at a rapid pace
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills
  • Reading text/document use
  • Working well in a team environment AND able to function independently
  • Field and bench repair experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Computer skills are essential
     
Preferred Skills:
  • ETA Certification
  • Familiar with two-way radio technology by Motorola Solutions, Kenwood, Harris, Tait, Avtech, Zetron, etc.
  • IP networking, WLAN, uWave
  • Component level repair
 
Security and Safety:
  • Police security clearance
  • Criminal record check
  • Driver’s validity license check
     
Work Site Environment:
  • In shop work
  • On-site (customer location) work
  • Some after hours on call responsibility (weekly rotation shared by technical staff)

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time
Salary: To be negotiated based on experience
Other Salary: Medical benefits, Dental benefits, On Call (Rotation) Pay
