Job Description

StarTech.com is currently looking for a Product Information Creation Specialist to join our Product Information team at our Corporate Office in London, Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager, Product Information Creation, the Product Information Creation Specialist makes an impact by ensuring all product information (at the SKU level) is written in clear, concise, user-centric language, so that Customers can find the part they need in the most efficient way possible, and that the product is used as intended and to its full capacity.

The Product Information Creation Specialist interacts with Product Managers, Product Developers, Market Research Analysts and Technical Advisors to develop a deep understanding of the product, critical search terms, and key messages that need to be articulated to Customers. What You Will Gain

  • A deep understanding of our Customers and how our product information is listed
  • The chance to observe the development of a product, and then writing copy according to set standards and procedures, with respect to order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
  • The opportunity to be involved with video production as it relates to messaging, graphics selection, and the script

 

What You Can Show Us

  • 3 years experience in a professional writing role—corporate communications, marketing, or technical (this could include brochures, manuals, newsletters)
  • Post-Secondary education in English, Information & Media Studies, Journalism or equivalent
  • A knowledge of, or an aptitude to learn about, leading IT technologies (Thunderbolt 3, USB-C, etc)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (InDesign, FrameMaker, previous CMS exposure an asset)
  • Superior communication and organizational skills
