CARPROOF is excited to announce the position of Manager – Data Acquisition, reporting directly to the COO. The successful candidate will have a knack for building lasting relationships and be excited to take their career to the next level. The Manager – Data Acquisition must love being handed a project to independently spearhead and see through to completion. You are self-motivated and eager to prove your propensity for success. You are extremely well-organized and time management is one of your best skills. You understand how to incentivize and motivate an inside sales team to assist with your data acquisition efforts.

In this recently created position, you will be responsible for helping drive CARPROOF’s data acquisition objectives which include building relationships with key personnel at automotive dealerships and aftermarket service centers to obtain data.

You will be responsible for prospecting new CARPROOF data suppliers and supporting the negotiation of deals with new data sources, while managing an inside team to support these efforts. You will be expected to be the “feet on the street” and conduct franchise visits and develop relationships with data sources. You will work closely with the COO to develop the strategies for dealer and service data acquisition going forward.

Position Responsibilities

• Identify all required data and its sources (e.g. service centers across Canada)
• Build the dealer and service data acquisition strategies, together with the Business Development team
• Execute the data acquisition roadmap through management of the acquisition lifecycle which includes: identification of data sources, relationship initiation, fostering relationships and closing the data deal
• This position may also be called on to develop relationships with provincial regulatory data providers
• Work closely with the Corporate Accounts team for OEM/partner data prospects
• Develop a thorough understanding of CARPROOF’s data portfolio
• Provide regular updates on data acquisition progress
• Conduct presentations to various parties on the service data roadmap
• Travel regularly to potential customer locations throughout Canada and represent the company at various industry events

Education and experience required

• Business development and/or senior sales work experience
• Post-secondary education, college diploma or university degree
• Automotive industry experience is an asset

Requirements

• Ability to develop a sound sales or business development strategy
• A proven background demonstrating your competitive nature and ability to execute
• Self-motivated with a strong bias to act
• Excellent selling and communication skills
• Solid track record of effective people management
• Ability to build rapport over the phone and in person
• Team-oriented mindset
• Willingness to travel across Canada
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

This full-time position is based in Southwestern Ontario with travel required. Compensation includes base salary commensurate with experience, performance bonuses, health/dental benefits and an optional RRSP matching program.
