We're looking for a candidate with 2+ years of payroll and A/R experience  as you will be responsible for completing weekly payrolls for  owner operators using Simply Accounting system as well as supporting with accounts receivables.
Knowledge and experience in the trucking industry is required to this role as you will be dealing with drivers, trip sheet reports, log books and payroll. 

Payroll Clerk

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure weekly payroll and benefits are administered accurately within the required timeframes and in accordance with legislative requirements
Using Simply Accounting system to process broker payrolls and commissions
Process deductions and remittances, maintain employee payroll records, month end reporting, issuing ROE's
Responsible for deductions including garnishments, family support payments, GST, HST
Liaise with drivers on payroll issues/concerns and follow up on payroll discrepancies
Trucking Industry knowledge is an asset for this role and experience in owner operator payments
All other administrative duties are required including filing, data entry, copy etc.
Responsible for accounts receivables duties in addition to broker payroll

Job Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 2+ years of payroll experience - trucking industry an asset
Proficiency with Simply Accounting is an asset to the role but is not required
Canadian Payroll Association certificate is an asset
Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Must be able to meet tight deadlines and have attention to detail
This is multi-tasking position requiring you to change and shift priorities to meet tight deadlines
Successful completion of College Diploma required with preferred field of study payroll and accounting
