Quality Manager
 
Our London, ON area client is recruiting for a Quality Manager to join their organization.  We are representing an automotive parts manufacturer.  A summary of responsibilities is listed below:
 
RESPONSIBILITIES :
 
QMS and EMS Management Representative
Ensure compliance to ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
Ensure compliance to the Corporate TS internal audit schedule
Maintain ISO/TS 16969 and ISO 14001 work instructions
Ensure compliance to Global Operating Procedures
Ensure non-conformances are responded to within the required time frame
Ensure compliance to Gauge and Equipment Calibration schedule and all required testing is complete and meets customer requirements
Interact with customers on quality issues and attend customer plant visits as required
Ensure customers are provided with robust corrective actions within required time frame
Monitor customer websites on a daily basis for new quality issues
Interact with the customer during visits to (ie PTR’s, PPAP reviews etc)
Interact with customers on required audits, drive improvements, and close action items
Ensure the PAPP dates are met and meet the customer requirements
Communicate all Quality issues (both internal/external) to Management team and the Director of Quality
Prepare QOS measurable per the requirements for Monthly Management Reviews
Prepare QOS items for Senior Management monthly meeting
Monitor Cost of Quality and other key measurable-implement actions to reduce cost to meet or exceed the target
Perform annual employee evaluations
Work with other departments to ensure timely closure to open issues on the fast response board
Ensure all supplier charge backs are approved and submitted to accounting
Complete layered audits per audit schedule and monitor closure of items
Recruit, discipline and terminate direct reports
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Relevant post- secondary education or equivalent experience
Excellent work ethic
3-5 years in a manufacturing quality assurance environment
Leadership/organizational/problem solving
Strong communication skills
Project management abilities
ISO/TS16949 and ISO 14001 experience and lead auditor certificate preferred
Knowledge of SPC, GD&T
Knowledge of AIAG Manuals – SPC, PFMEA, APQP, MSA, PPAP and all customer specific requirements
5’s, VF, SMED, VSM
