GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Excellent communicator
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
- Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required
- Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
- Master's degree in First Nations Studies, Aboriginal Education, or related area preferred
- Experience designing and delivering curriculum informed by Indigenous pedagogy
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
- Experience working with First Nations communities, Aboriginal organizations and Indigenous peoples
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Indigenous issues, values, Aboriginal worldview, cultural protocols, and learning styles
- Successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred
- Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery would be an asset
