Logistics Planner


Job Specifications
 
  • Initiate and lead participants in cost reduction measures
  • Plan and implement logistics concepts in volume production together with relevant Customer and Manufacturing teams, functions, customers and suppliers
  • Support new product introduction with packaging approval process
  • Seek continuous improvements in logistics processes, change through Kanban loops, optimize packaging, containerization and packing loops with Suppliers and Customers.  Avoid non-value added activities within the process
  • Development of logistical alternative concepts for new product and current products taking into account individual circumstances
  • Monitor Logistics performance through the development and maintenance of KPIs
  • SAP key user, or deputy for key user, for warehouse management and dispatch processes
  • Plan all aspects of the logistics transport chain, inbound and outbound
  • Deputy for the Area Group Leader – Logistics as required
  • Undertake other projects and activities as required
 
Job Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or relevant engineering program.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in logistics/supply chain coordination and/or industrial engineering, preferably within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Warehousing and logistics technology, material movements and warehousing techniques
  • Basic understanding of accounting, inventory planning and reconciliation experience
  • Ability to analyze delivery expenses and develop tools to promote an understanding of the costs while driving cost reduction
  • Experience with ERP systems and SAP
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office (excel, outlook, word)
  • Understanding of Lean production principals, specifically Value Stream Mapping and Waste Reduction
