Job Description:
The Powerline Project Manager is responsible for managing a number of projects simultaneously. A large part of the role requires coordination with various parties including contractors, utility field supervisors, utility and contract engineers, utility program managers, and utility operational personnel. The position requires knowledge of line construction and work methods, including knowledge of costing methods.

Job Description:
The Powerline Project Manager is responsible for managing a number of projects simultaneously. General Duties:
- Leading a project team of engineers and designers involved in the analysis and design of new and existing transmissions and distribution facilities for the power industry
- Investigating, troubleshooting, and prescribing the necessary improvements to electrical infrastructure
- Meeting with clients, scoping improvements, and leading a team to complete the contracted work on time and budget
- Visiting project sites before, during, and after construction to observe, monitor, and address challenges
- Serving as a quality control officer
- Performing independent reviews of work carried out by others including calculations and drawings as required
- Updating budgets and project forecasts
- Evaluating cost submittals and estimates
- Issuing construction purchase orders
Qualifications/Experience:
- Knowledge of the electrical industry is required
- Previous experience working with the physical layout of protection and controls
- Able to prepare calculations and specifications accurately and in a timely manner
- Previous experience serving as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role
- Strength in managing and communicating with people
- Management experience an asset
