Job Description

CT Innovation is a growing automotive parts manufacturer providing specialized tubular steel components and assemblies to the global market.  Our organization has an immediate requirement for a Production Administration Assistant to support production activities at our London, Ontario facility. 

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning and directing manufacturing processes in the facility.  They are tasked to create, find, and evaluate better and more efficient ways to manufacture our products; utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in defining engineering related objectives (cost, quality, and timelines), methods and means (materials, human resources), establishing records, policies, and procedures. 
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, product workflow, designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Responsible for production related maintenance and preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment and production goals are satisfied.  Monitor operations on a daily basis and supervise technical personnel.
  • Responsible for ensuring production equipment performance using best in class manufacturing techniques.  A broad knowledge of equipment and tools and the ability to effect change through influence, often in a hands-on way, interacting with shop floor personnel, engineering and manufacturing groups.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Responsible for developing/issuing/monitoring of engineering (product / equipment) related drawings and specifications.                          
  • Coordinates supplier related PPAP activities and equipment buyoffs and assists with customer related requirements.  Lead the development of PPAP manufacturing samples and associated documentation.
  • Responsible for the verification / identification/ compliance with government related guidelines and legislation associated with CTI equipment and facility operation.                                 
  • Incorporate engineering specifications into design, process, or techniques and provide feedback to capture lessons learned.  Create, implement, and monitor key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Develop processes to measure and further workshop productivity (equipment performance, team efficiency).  Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Professional Engineer or Technologist Diploma in a manufacturing or industrial related science.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a manufacturing engineer and solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.  Ability to manage several projects at once under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with CAD and ERP systems.
