Industrial Mechanic Millwright – 443A
On behalf of my client on the East side of St. Thomas I am currently recruiting for an Industrial Millwright to accept a position on a 2-shift rotation for a Permanent, full-time opportunity.
Salary: $31.01/hour on Days + Shift premium of $0.75 on Afternoons= $31.76/hour
Increased by $2.25 per hour at 6 months= $33.26/hour
Plus an additional increase of $0.25 every 6 months for 2 years to bring you up to the max rate: $34.01
RRSP Matching of 3% after probation period is available
Shift: 2 Shift Rotations every 2 Weeks (Afternoons / Days)
7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and overtime as necessary.
+OT on Saturday on a voluntary basis is available

- Supporter of Six Sigma for 0 defects and supplies parts to a stable, local Automotive customer
- Climate controlled work environment with approximately 300 production staff
- Maintenance Team size of 10 people including 1 other tenured Millwright
- Training would start on Days with the Maintenance Manager for several weeks
- Convenience store type set up in the lunchroom that is monitored by a video camera and self-managed through debit or credit payments for snacks or lunches with healthy options for staff 24/7
- Change rooms with shower facilities on site although not needed with climate control!
- Access to picnic tables for outside lunch area
- Maintain and repair production equipment/machinery (Stamping Presses & Welders)
- Install, fabricate and troubleshoot ancillary equipment & tooling
- Troubleshoot, adjust, teach and program weld robots
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and related plant equipment
- Thorough understanding of relevant machinery/equipment including overhead cranes, welding and metal cutting equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with fabrication, welding and machining experience
- Conducting preventive maintenance programs and maintaining records
- 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate of Qualification with 3 to 5 Years of Experience
- Assists up on the maintenance of all machinery and equipment inclusive of preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications, and fabrication requirements.
- Is knowledgeable/proficient in the uses of maintenance tools and equipment, (gauges, mills, lathes, surface grinders, welders, etc.).
- Effects repairs of machinery, equipment, and facility at the work station(s) or in the Maintenance area and assists with the repairs of dies when required.
- Responds to Team Member inquiries regarding the status of machinery and equipment repairs and/or modifications, and to the fabrication status of ancillary tooling/equipment such as jigs, fixtures, carts, tables, racking, etc.
- Assists with the procurement of Machine Maintenance related supplies and services pertaining to machine and equipment maintenance.
- Maintains 4S and participates in 4S within the department.
- Is trained and certified in the use of forklifts and/or overhead cranes.
