As we continue to grow, we have a need for the following position:

Position: Manager, Child, Youth and Camp Programs  

Location:             Stoney Creek Community Centre YMCA & Library, 920 Sunningdale Rd E, London ON, N5X 0H5

Start Date:          October 2022

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 3-5 years delivering recreational programming and/or camp programming
  • 3 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Physical Education, Recreation and/or Business and Marketing an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is an asset. 
  • Previous experience in customer service; flexible and well organized
  • Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers.
  • It is a YMCA of Southwestern Ontario requirement that all employees and volunteers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Exemptions will be granted upon receipt of acceptable proof of a permissible Human Rights Code ground.
Compensation/Benefits: $45,000

  • Vacation entitlement in accordance with the employment standards regulations
  • May be entitled to up to 12 paid personal days – applicable with position and contract length.

Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday, with one evening shift per week. Occasional weekends for special events.
Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment, selection, training, scheduling and performance management of staff and volunteers in the Child and Youth and Camp departments
  • Provide direct leadership in the delivery of programs
  • Establish and implement staff/volunteer development and recognition plans and programs
  • Administrative duties including payroll, scheduling, monitoring waitlists, statistical reporting, and analysis
  • Research current trends and develop new and innovative programming based on trends
  • Development and ongoing monitoring of budget
  • Work a flex schedule as needed and mutually agreed with the Centre Manager, which could include evenings, weekends, special events
  • Assist with marketing and promotional efforts as related to programs
  • Work directly with various user groups
  • Respond to and proactively deal with Members and potential issues of concern
  • Support all other service areas while implementing Priority SAM
  • Maintain relevant certification and provide leadership to all our child and youth program and service areas in addition to our holiday, PA and Summer Day Camps
