Accounting Assistant – One year contract covering a Maternity Leave
 
We are now seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Finance Team on a one year contract to cover an upcoming maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to gain some valuable finance and accounting experience in a modern and growing manufacturing environment.
 
 
Duties & job responsibilities:
Financials
  • Assistance with our new ERP Implementation for financials
  • Processing cash receipts, conducting bank reconciliations and processing Visa expenses
Accounts Payable
  • Process payable entries into SBT system as well as print and mail checks
  • Follow up with vendor inquiries
  • Sister Company accounts payable
Accounts Receivable
  • Account collection / follow up
  • Cash receipts
  • Purchase order entry
  • Customer service / Invoice entry
General Duties
  • Hourly employee biweekly payroll calculation
  • Assist Finance Manager with any financial related task
  • Quarterly government survey, quarterly reporting to bank
  • General office admin, office supply ordering
  • Assist with telephone and reception
  • Invoice / payable file maintenance (file room)
Necessary skills:
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the ability to provide prompt and accurate information as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively balance changing priorities
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment (Excel, Access), and SBT Accounting Software
  • Several years of experience in an appropriate accounting role in a manufacturing environment as well as post-secondary education in accounting.
 
This position is full time temporary with a competitive compensation and benefit package.  The position will start as soon as possible and is based in London, Ontario.
