Payroll & Accounting Administrator (Contract)

Summary
Reporting to the Controller with significant accountability to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll & Accounting Administrator will be responsible for providing payroll and accounting services of a confidential nature to the Accounting department within Sofina Foods Inc.  This is a contract position with the potential to turn into a permanent role.
 
Some key accountabilities are
 
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing/administering of payroll (including benefits) for assigned Lilydale Employee groups/Facilities as well as the London and Dublin facilities
  • Provide functional guidance to site payroll and respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers in the assigned area
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of plant production data in preparation of plant yield reports
  • Preparation of daily yield reports and completion of GL journal entries and account reconciliations as required
  • Provide back-up/cover-off to other Payroll Administrators
 
Qualifications/Requirements
 
  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of two years of full-cycle payroll administration experience in a unionized environment
  • Certification with Canadian Payroll Association would be an asset
  • Strong basic knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, government reporting requirements, Employment Standards Act
  • Strong organization, time management, communication, and problem solving skills related to payroll administration
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite and basic math skills
