Job Description

Our client, a successful leader in the manufacturing industry is recruiting for a driven, collaborative, results-oriented Plant Manager to join and lead their thriving organization.
The Plant Manager will diligently oversee the leadership of the multi-shift manufacturing facilities to ensure that the manufacturing process is completed as required in compliance with safety, quality, delivery expectations and production standards
The Plant Manager will be to motivate a high-performance team that delivers by:
  • Directly supervising production activities; including all manufacturing processes and procedures and continuous improvement of plant operations
  • Maintaining a comprehensive manufacturing schedule and upholding delivery commitments
  • Complying with the Quality System Policy and procedures and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, the Company’s Health and Safety policy and participates in training programs and, ensuring that all safety policies are followed
  • Improving product and process driven non-conformances
  • Creating monthly forecasts and reports on month end results
  • Keeping a regular presence on the production floor and works to maintain high levels of communication with leaders and cultivating the highest quality of internal relationships
  • Maximizing gross profit contribution within the plant
  • Demonstrating the ability to use all available assets to maximize output
  • Recommending staffing levels for the plant, including recommendation for recruitment and selection
  • Maintaining a high level of communication with the project managers, electrical and mechanical engineering to ensure regular updates on capacity levels and/or constraints
  • Monitoring and adjusting plant capacities as required to provide the best possible lead times

To qualify for this exciting and unique opportunity, you will have:
  • Background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years industrial manufacturing experience, with five years of suitable direct supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience in Project Management and/or Operations Management
  • Previous experience with fabricating or manufacturing of heavy industrial machinery
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively support multiple projects to completion; meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Must be a strong multi-tasker and must excel at coping with conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills; deals with conflict effectively
  • Demonstrated performance as high-energy team player, with ability to lead people and administer results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
  • Excellent communication skills and teambuilding abilities
