Role: Maintenance – General Labour (Maintenance Technician) - Day Shift

Ramsden Industries has been a leader in the aluminum casting industry since 1946. We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. 

Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate should be safety focused with great attendance. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning activities such as cleaning safety mirrors and ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken thermocouples, filling gaps on walls and floors etc.
• Install some equipment (thermoforms, filters) with minimal supervision
• Cleaning out way covers and chip conveyors
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and locks
• Check functionality of safety systems (fire alarm) and replace spent extinguishers
• Strong organizational and follow up skills with professional attitude
• Report to maintenance manager any issues or building concerns
• Strong time management skills with the ability to maintain focus while working individually
• Performing minor fixes like plumbing issues and sinks clogs
• Paint floors and safety railings and charge air and water filters
• Daily maintenance of machine and compressor filters

Qualifications

• 1 – 2 years of general labour experience within a manufacturing industry preferred
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers
• Experience using hand and electrical tools
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical stamina and dexterity
• Well-organized with ability to cope with multiple tasks
