We are currently recruiting to fill a permanent role as an Intermediate Legal Assistant job opportunity in London, ON. As an Intermediate Legal Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting a Lawyer in the practice one on one along with general office duties of a growing law firm. The ideal candidate will be a strong, confident individual with the ability to take charge in a busy environment. The salary for this role is between $45,000-$55,000 depending on experience.

The responsibilities of this Intermediate Legal Assistant job includes:
- Keeping files organized by monitoring calendars, coordinating travel arrangements, meeting deadlines, documenting actions, inputting information into the database and file management software, confirming file status
- Assist with file development and contact with those involved, scheduling depositions, preparing and filing discovery requests, preparing responses to opposing counsel, generating status reports
- Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact, communicating file progress
- Maintains file costs by verifying outstanding balances
- Supports file preparation by preparing file summaries and materials for mediation conferences, preparing pleadings, monitoring and obtaining discovery responses, organizing material for team file review
- Answering phones, drafting letters and general documentation with dictation
- General office duties such as photocopying, scanning and binding, service and filing of court documents, maintaining office calendar and scheduling court dates
- Other administrative/reception duties as required such as ordering office supplies, and organizing couriers
- 3-8 years experience working as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a labour management or corporate practice
- Completion, at minimum, a Legal Assistant diploma
- Experience with litigation and Human Rights Tribunal Board preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proactive planning and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office
