Summary of Duties

Reports to the Corporate Energy Manager.  Prepares, processes and analyzes required information and other functions pertaining to the Corporation’s energy portfolio.  Prepares and processes necessary reports for internal stakeholders.  Provides energy related administrative support to the Facilities Division.

Work Performed

Prepares detailed consumption and demand analyses including weather data.

Reconciles utility billing consumption and cost to rate schedules.

Supports Energy & Sustainability initiatives by isolating facilities of interest on an exception basis for additional scrutiny or to identify energy efficiency projects.

Assists with the completion of energy rate and consumption forecasts.

Generates multiple energy and financial reports, budget forecast and variance analysis, completing verifications and collecting information from numerous sources.

Maintains the integrity of Corporate Energy databases and associated software applications.

Prepares and processes Accounts Payables for payment to suppliers ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with established guidelines, procedures and contracts. 

Assists Supervisors and Managers in providing cost and statistical information for budget preparation and monitoring purposes.

Liaises with internal and external parties regarding invoicing inquiries, Corporate policy on payment processing/receiving and other accounts payable/receivable related matters.

Provides ongoing administrative support to other divisional areas.

Provides ongoing liaison with other departments and Boards and Commissions.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

Successful completion of a three-year advanced Community College Diploma as a Mechanical or Electrical Technologist or equivalent in a related field.

Six months of previous experience is required. 

Specialized Training & Licenses

Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:

Demonstrated proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets and various software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Valid Class G Driver’s Licence and ability to attend site visits throughout the City of London.

Compensation and Other Information

$47,177 - $66,841 (Level 10)

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm

These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.

NOTE: Applicants may be required to complete a job related test. 

Please note - On April 23,2019, the City of London Declared a Climate Emergency.  The Energy Analyst will support the Corporation’s existing Corporate Energy Conservation & Demand Management (CDM) plan as well as assist in the development of the Climate Emergency Action Plan via the gathering, processing and analysis of energy, emissions, utility and technical data, utilizing clean energy management software.
