Job Description
Our client in Stratford is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team on a full time permanent basis. This company offers a competitive salary, growth potential, benefits, pension and more.
Primary Duties:
Lead Quality Engineering function on both New and Current Programs as assigned
Key interface with Corporate Design Engineers, Program Engineers, Account Managers
Establish/Maintain Control Plans
Establish Gauging Requirements (CLD, Insert/Ext, Length, etc), approvals, quotes, fabrications, gauge studies
Set-up SPC System, including charts, electronic database, control limits, etc.
Set-up Test Equipment, methods, etc to perform all testing required per control plan
Prepare PPAP documentation in compliance with AIAG/customer Specific Requirements for internal and external customers
Establish Quality Standards and communicate using various mediums
Ensure part conformance to Customer Requirements (fit, function, reliability, and appearance)
Champion customer Concern responses (Containment/Corrective Action Process)
Issue Quality Alerts and conduct Quality Reviews on the shop
Provide Customer Liaison Support for launch activities
Provide Quality Engineering support for Day to Day manufacturing activity
Participate in Review of material as part of Material Review Board
Prepare Quality Reports as directed/SPC Summary Report
Assume key role for communication within Quality Group and throughout facility
Daily interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing and Production Control Groups
Assist in the implementation of both group/personal “Lean” activities
Champion Quality Improvement initiatives to reduce scrap/defect levels
Assist with Qs9000/TS16949 Audits as required
All employees are expected to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, the Workers Safety Insurance Act and the companies Health, Safety and Environment Procedures
Other assignments as directed by the Quality Manager
Minimum 3 year College Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (CQT, CQE).
Minimum 2 years experience in the Automotive Supplier Industry as a Quality Engineer
Experience with Chrysler, Ford, GM, Quality Information Systems
Ability to prepare PPAP packages to Customer Requirements
Ability to travel otside Canada for customer support activity
Fully computer literate and knowledgeable with SPC software programs
CAD experience would be an asset
Knowledgeable in TS16949 Quality System requirements; Certified Auditor documentation would be an asset
