Job Description
SE Freight Systems Inc., with deep roots in the automotive industry, is currently hiring for a Driver Manager to join our team to support in managing driver performance and issues in several markets including London, Windsor and Brownstown, MI. We're looking for an experienced candidate that can hit the ground running in helping us to driver results and continue to improve company performance.
Driver Manager
In this role you will be responsible for managing company drivers, owner operators and broker drivers in several markets to ensure we are meeting customer expectations and complying with MTO guidelines. This position requires a strong background in logistics/transportation industry with preference to candidates that have a background in automotive JIT experience. You must have a strong understanding of MTO and DOT standards and be able to manage drivers to meet industry requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitoring driver performance regarding on time delivery, completion of paperwork, driving performance, customer service and addressing performance issues in a timely manner
Responsible for ensuring complete understanding of customer expectations regarding deliveries and ensuring drivers are trained on customer processes
Responsible for addressing any schedule or route issues with drivers to improve customer service results
Co-ordinate and facilitate bi annual driver meetings in London, Windsor and Brownstown markets to ensure company policies and directives are communicated in a timely manner
Responsible for managing driver corrective action process in a timely manner
Partner with scheduling, dispatch, and fleet departments to ensure driver retention is monitored and improved
Liaison with drivers and operations team to improve on processes and ensure customer key performance indicators are met daily
Responsible for implementing and drafting a company newsletter monthly
Reporting to owners on driver performance and customer service results
Implementing driver incentive program to improve on retention results and attract qualified drivers
Job Requirements:
Must have minimum 2+ years of management experience in the transportation/logistics industry - past driver management experience is required for this role
Strong relationship building and negotiating skills required
Ability to ensure company and customer standards and policies are achieved and monitored daily
Past experience with managing performance and managing corrective action processes
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and MS Office skills
Ability to travel to Windsor and Brownstown as business needs dictate to ensure driver retention in all markets is maximized
