Project / Application Engineer

Randstad Engineering is recruiting for Engineers with 5+ years’ experience in sales, costing and quoting for the turnkey Automation Industry for full robotic assembly systems, ideally for the automotive industry. Our client is growing immensely and looking to hire an experienced individual that has project / application engineering background within Automation Integration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required
  • Extensive experience quoting full estimates on assembly systems for manufacturers
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in turnkey automation solutions
  • Knowledge of costing within automation and machine building process

The primary responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Develop quotations for full robotic welding assembly systems
  • Ensure project scope is feasible and functional in addition to cost efficient
  • Review and analyze customer documents, requests for quotes, customer facility and equipment, product designs to ensure concept is optimized and effective
  • Generate unique concepts with system engineers to provide cutting edge automation solutions and complete concept testing
  • Research key project components and request quote to identify technical capability and cost directly from the supplier
  • Complete accurate costing for quotes by individually analyzing time and material requirements for each aspect of the project
  • Review history of projects to ensure using the most viable methods
  • Present quotes both internally and externally to explain concept and validate budget
  • Process Improvement - develop quote templates to improve accuracy and consistency
