Manager of Enabling Technology
The Manager of Enabling Technology will facilitate the development and implementation of a technology vision and strategy that aligns with Goodwill’s mission and business strategic objectives; empowering people to achieve their full potential at work and in life, and propelling organizational performance.
Embracing trends and innovations in how technology can advance learning and literacy, accessibility, communications, health and safety, human resources, financial management, and a multitude of business platforms including retail, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, and hospitality; this leader will guide the technological transformation of the organization toward being more effective, efficient and empowering.

Principal Position Responsibilities:
- Understand Goodwill’s mission and business pursuits and how technology can advance the organization’s practices, results and people
- Understand and embrace trends, innovations and opportunities, both market ready and emerging, related to technology devices, infrastructure, software and applications
- Develop and maintain an organization wide assessment of existing learning and enterprise needs, systems, access to technology, and priority initiatives for new systems or upgrades
- Develop a strategic technology vision and plan in alignment with Goodwill’s corporate strategic plan, with a focus on the diverse needs and abilities of users, geographic scope of interactions and communications, and the integration and streamlining of systems that are flexible, mobile and efficient across a variety of business and training platforms
- Develop and oversee all technology annual plans and operating and capital budgets
- Lead strategic technological initiatives and projects
- Determine governance, controls, administrator policies, guidelines and standards for technology and users
- Develop cyber security, privacy protection and business continuity plans consistent with legislation and prepare the organization for execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and plan
- Participate in the development and delivery of training for end user performance and success with technology
- Develop and implement a communications strategy that will educate, inspire and engage stakeholders in technology
- Develop and oversee strategy to provide resolution to technical problems and ‘hot desk’ functions in a cost-effective manner.
- Develop, track, and control the technical services annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations
- Oversee service agreements with end users and monitor systems, programs, and equipment performance
Qualified Candidates Will Possess:
- University degree in the field of computer science, business administration, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred
- 5 - 7 years of experience in the technology field and ideally 3 - 5 years of experience managing and/or directing technology operations
- Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development
- Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, programming, media, and various forms of computers – desk tops, tablets, smartphones and emerging hybrid and new technologies
- Solid understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems
- Technical and/or management experience with systems networking, databases, application development, and user support
- Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
- Excellent understanding of project management principles
- Superior understanding of organizational goals and objectives
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology
